And yet, Camden is more than just a coastal village. It is also a vibrant and sophisticated hub of arts, culture, and events year-round, From Windjammer Days and the Camden Classics Cup regatta in the summer to the renowned Camden International Film Festival in the fall and the hugely influential Camden Conference in the winter and a myriad of events and celebrations in between make Camden an inspiring destination throughout the year.

When the objects we use every day and the surroundings we live in have become in themselves a work of art, then we shall be able to say that we have achieved a balanced life.

guiding principle of Scandinavian design
Scandinavian design strips back the unnecessary, helps to deepen our relationship with nature, and invites peace into the home. At NordHavn, our embrace of Nordic architecture and design helps us cultivate what’s important to this community: sustainability, quality, living with intention, and immersing ourselves in the beauty of the natural world.

Our commitment to the environment begins with preserving the natural wildlife habitat, pristine streams, and towering spruce and pine forest, to which a third of the NordHavn site is dedicated. As we bring this community to life, we are striving to limit our environmental impacts by designing clustered homes with small footprints, and by restoring naturalized landscapes with native species. Our ecological construction approach reflects important choices to use materials and building practices which minimize the environmental impact of NordHavn. We have chosen to build with sustainably harvested cross-laminated mass-timber that sequesters more carbon than is consumed by construction while also making a healthier living environment inside our cabins. We have selected high-efficiency systems like state-of-the-art inverter heat pumps and European triple-glazed thermal windows. Our carports separate cars from cabins to reduce forest impact and minimize impervious surfaces like roads and driveways. They also incorporate high-speed L-2 chargers to support residents with electric vehicles. We hope that our future residents will join us as stewards for this unique place in all its natural wonder.
