Shared Amenities

Relaxation. Mindfulness. Fun. Bathed in dappled sunlight, this Scandinavian-inspired outdoor spa is focused on wellbeing and provides residents and their guests a deep connection with nature. Located by a footbridge over one of several waterfalls on the property, the Adventure Spa includes a modern sauna, featuring a windowed wall and classic cedar interior, and an outdoor cedar hot tub on a decked surface complete with changing area and seasonal showering facilities. This shared amenity has been carefully embedded in its surroundings with an ambiance featuring the sounds of cascading water and wind in the forest canopy.

A series of designated areas at NordHavn offer places for quiet reflection, wellness, and social interaction. The design of each location is intentional and oriented around an inspiring focal point, which may be a fire pit in a meadow of wildflowers with views of the bay and islands or a cascading waterfall with a swimming hole or a secluded grove of trees in the forest. These unique locations provide opportunities for solitude or for connection with friends while enjoying the natural beauty of Maine.

Yoga. Meditation. Shelter. Located along a forested shoreline between two brooks, the wellness area provides a sheltered retreat for residents to practice yoga, meditate or simply relax with a book. It is a roomy gazebo with screening for protection from nature’s elements and can be accessed by a rough-hewn footbridge fashioned from hemlock timbers harvested on the property.

Food. Beverage. Wading. Splashing. NordHavn’s picnic area is a park-like setting on the shoreline of the Spring Brook with easy access to the water for wading and splashing around. With grilling facilities and a sizable picnic table, the area provides a getaway in a serene setting for an afternoon picnic or dinner with friends and family.

Bobcats. Bald Eagles. Brook Trout. White-tailed Deer. NordHavn shares the land with some of nature’s amazing creatures. To limit the impact on their environment, nearly one-third of the property has been preserved for wildlife habitat and designated as common open space for all to enjoy. Crossed by a network of hiking trails with scenic vistas, this private 15-acre recreational area provides an enduring commitment to the environment and a playground for nature lovers.

Roughing it, but close to home. Wake to the sounds of the forest and the warmth of the morning sun at a private campsite. Perched above a waterfall in a preserved wildlife area, NordHavn’s campsite provides residents and their guests an opportunity to spend an evening around a campfire and retire for the night in their tent under the stars while still remaining close to the comforts of home.

Walk. Hike. Snowshoe. Ski. NordHavn’s private trail network winds through the property, providing access to stunning views and a private entrance to Camden Hills State Park with more than 30 miles of trails crossing a 5,710-acre recreational area that spans a dramatic coastal mountain range. From a forest of towering pines to exposed, rocky mountaintops, the park trails traverse some of the most beautiful scenery in Maine. Known as the only place on the East Coast where the mountains meet the sea, the rugged peaks rise nearly 1,400 feet from the harbor below and offer stunning views overlooking Penobscot Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Find Yourself
in Camden

NordHavn feels removed from the world, and yet is only a few minutes away from Camden’s charming harborside village— a welcoming community filled with quaint shops, art galleries, great restaurants, wineries, breweries, and a picturesque harbor with a lively full-service marina and boatyard.

In fact, Camden is more than just a small-town coastal village. It is also a vibrant and sophisticated hub of arts, culture, and year-round events, including the renowned Camden International Film Festival in the fall, the National Toboggan Race in February, the Camden Classics Cup regatta in July, and the Camden Conference, which draws policymakers, scholars, and journalists from around the world.
